Every Hero Has a Story

The 2015 summer reading program was a lot of fun; the theme was “Every Hero Has a Story” We also continued the adult reading program this year.

The children’s award program was held July 17 at 10:00 AM. Children who read 20 books or had 50 books read to them won a prize. Those who read 50 books also won a T-shirt..

The adults received their prizes at a party July 16 at 7:00 PM. Those who completed 50 hours of reading won either a T-shirt or a gift certificate.
We had some wonderful story hours this summer. Preschool met Tuesday mornings.

We also had special presentations by the Kansas Cosmosphere and by Dan, Dan, the Magic Man. There were two StoryWalks; the first used Handa’s Surprise, and the second used If You Give a Moose a Muffin.

Special prizes were given for reading the most books, for winning the guessing game, and for completing the “Every Hero Has a Story” game.
