The 2020 Summer Reading Program Has Been Good!

woman reading to childrenWe are quickly coming to the end of the 2020 Summer Reading Program and it has been good! The young patrons have been wonderful and we’ve had an excellent time during story hours and craft classes. We have been blessed with people from the community who came in and presented interesting and informative story hours. We have had numerous patrons generously donate money for treats and prizes. We are grateful for every single person who has been involved with the summer reading program this year.

Everyone’s hours have to be turned in by August 7 to be counted. We will be having the prize drawings on August 11 at 10:00 AM. You do not have to be present to win. T-shirts for those who made their goal will be ordered on August 12 and patrons will be notified when the library receives them!

Expansion Plans Progressing

brick buildingAfter Lincoln Library purchased the Mason building north of the library nearly a year ago, ideas began flowing! We contacted an architect to begin our expansion. We pretty well knew what we wanted after numerous discussions, and members of the expansion committee worked hard to get what was in our brains down on paper. The architect put it to scale, and we hope to soon have our plans sitting on an easel for community members to view. This expansion will enable us to provide extra programming and additional services to the community.

We have about three weeks of the summer reading program left. We have had so much fun, and the kids have been wonderful! Come on, it is not too late to join in the fun, prizes, and games.

Close to Halfway Done!

Dan and 2 assistants showing live rabbit to childrenWe are getting close to being halfway done with the 2020 Summer Reading Program! We have had fun thus far with our programming, reading, and games. Dan, Dan the Magic Man was here last Thursday, and as always, he put on a good program for us. While thanking him after the program, he commented that Medicine Lodge is one of his favorite towns to come to because the kids are so well-behaved and they interact with him through the program. Of course, it is something I already knew, but I’m proud to pass that little tidbit of information on!

We have a large variety of prizes for all ages and those signed up for the program can put another entry form in the box of their choice every time they come into the library to check out books. The great thing about it all, there is still time for you to sign up and join us in this adventure as we “Imagine Your Story”!

Programming and reading to meet our goals will continue until August 6, then I need everything turned in! On Tuesday, August 11, we will be drawing for all of the prizes. You can be present if you want, but you do not have to be present to win. Come on in; we would love to get you signed up!
